Why start at Trezor.io/Start®?
Self-custody means you control your coins—not a company or exchange. Trezor® hardware wallets keep private keys offline, while Trezor Suite (desktop & web) lets you manage accounts, send/receive, buy/swap, and track your portfolio. Beginning at the official address ensures authentic software, device checks, and current instructions tailored to your model.
- Authenticity: Verified builds of Trezor Suite.
- Security: Guidance that prevents phishing and tampering.
- Clarity: Step-by-step flows for Model One and Model T.
- Support: Direct access to the official Help Center.
Step 1 — Install Trezor Suite
Desktop (recommended)
- Go to trezor.io/start and download Trezor Suite for your OS.
- Install and launch the app; allow updates when prompted.
- Enable App Lock (PIN/biometric) in
Settings → Security
for privacy.
Web (with Trezor Bridge)
- Open suite.trezor.io in a supported browser.
- Install Trezor Bridge if requested to enable USB communication.
- Reconnect your device after installation completes.
Always verify you are on an official Trezor® domain before installing anything.
Step 2 — Initialize your Trezor®
- Connect your Trezor via USB and open Trezor Suite.
- Select Set up my Trezor (or Recover wallet if restoring).
- Install/verify firmware when prompted.
- Create a strong device PIN; confirm on the device screen.
- Generate and write down your recovery seed (Model One: 24 words; Model T: 12/24 words).
- Confirm the words on your device; store the card securely offline. Never photograph or type the words.
Your recovery seed is the master key to your funds. If the device is lost or damaged, you can restore on any compatible Trezor by entering the words on the device, not on a computer or website.
Step 3 — Add accounts and verify addresses
- In Trezor Suite, click Accounts → Add account and choose a cryptocurrency.
- Suite will prompt you to confirm on the device; open the corresponding coin app if needed.
- To receive, select an account → Receive → Show full address.
- Verify the address on your Trezor screen; share it only if it matches exactly.
Funds live on the blockchain, not inside Suite. Removing and re-adding accounts never moves coins; it only affects what is displayed in the app.
Step 4 — Send safely, every time
Send
- Open an account → click Send.
- Paste the recipient address and amount; review the network fee.
- Confirm all details on your Trezor device screen; approve to sign.
Receive
- Click Receive → Show full address.
- Verify the address on the device display.
- Share only the verified address or QR code.
Trust the device screen. If something differs between Suite and the device, cancel and re-check.

- Keep firmware and Trezor Suite updated for the latest fixes and features.
- Store the seed offline; consider a metal backup for fire/water resistance.
